A distinct shift in tone. Warmer, more adult-centered, designed to energize as much as it soothes.

Skyway Behavioral Health, Skokie | 6th Floor

Building on the foundation established on the 7th floor, the 6th floor program at Skyway Behavioral Health called for a distinct shift in tone. Where the floor above made a bold statement, this program was designed to energize as much as it soothed, reaching toward a warmer, more adult-centered environment that felt less clinical and more human.

Original artworks anchor the lobby and group rooms, chosen for their ability to create presence and emotional resonance in the spaces where clients spend the most intentional time. Reproductions were selected and placed throughout the remaining areas with the same curatorial care, ensuring that the art program felt cohesive across every room rather than concentrated only in the most visible spaces.

The result is an environment that holds people gently. Not stillness for its own sake, not stimulating to the point of distraction, but genuinely alive with color, warmth, and a sense that the space was designed with the people inside it in mind.

Developed in collaboration with Epic Interiors. Photography: Erin Dwyer Photography.
